Major-Breaking: “Panic in New York: Promising Giants WR Goes Down with Scary Injury at Minicamp”

Posted on June 19, 2025

Jalin Hyatt Fighting for Redemption in Year 3 After Brutal 2024 Season

As Jalin Hyatt enters his third NFL season, the New York Giants wide receiver finds himself in a make-or-break moment. After a highly disappointing 2024 campaign, Hyatt is now battling to prove he belongs—and to keep his career alive.

The road ahead won’t be easy. With veteran wideout Darius Slayton returning on a three-year contract, Hyatt faces stiff competition for a starting spot. However, improved quarterback play from newly signed Russell Wilson—and the eventual arrival of rookie Jaxson Dart—could open up more opportunities in the offense, giving Hyatt a better shot to contribute.

To his credit, Hyatt has moved past previous friction with the coaching staff and has reportedly looked sharp throughout the offseason. That momentum carried into minicamp—until a minor hiccup on Tuesday.

According to Dan Duggan, Hyatt left practice early due to a minor leg issue:

“WR Jalin Hyatt left a drill early in practice and is getting his left leg stretched by a trainer,” Duggan reported. “He then spoke to Daboll and appears done for the day.”

Hyatt has yet to make a significant impact since being drafted. His rookie season saw flashes—23 receptions for 373 yards—but Year 2 was a step back, marred by quarterback instability and offensive dysfunction. He finished the season with just 8 catches for 62 yards.

Now, he’ll need to earn Russell Wilson’s trust. On Tuesday, the veteran QB spoke highly of Hyatt and the potential he sees in him.

“The biggest thing is consistency. I want to keep giving him chances—whether it’s downfield or just within the rhythm of the offense,” Wilson said.

“Jalin’s got a strong work ethic and real grit. He wants to be great every single day, and he has all the tools. What separates great receivers is their ability to win contested catches—and he does that really well. He’s got a big opportunity this year to set the tone.”

Fortunately, Hyatt’s injury isn’t considered serious, and with a break before training camp, he’s expected to be fully healthy. He’ll resume what has been a promising offseason and continue his push for a breakout in 2025.

“I believe in Jalin—who he is and what he’s going to bring to this team,” Wilson added. “He’s going to make big plays when it counts. I’m excited to see what he does this year and going forward in his career.”
