Matthew Stafford has a new weapon this season, and they are already developing their connection on the field.
The Los Angeles Rams posted a video from their most recent OTAs session, showing Stafford connecting with Adams on a deep ball. And the caption was perfect.
“Matthew Stafford to Davante Adams coming soon,” the team wrote
They aren’t wrong.
These two are going to be a deadly duo during the 2025 season, and are already putting their opponents on warning.
The Rams signed Adams to a two-year, $44 million deal in March after a very rough tenure with the New York Jets. However, his time with the Green Bay Packers and the Las Vegas Raiders speaks for itself, having earned three first-team All-Pro honors along with being a six-time Pro Bowler and a two-time NFL receiving touchdown leader.
Across his 12 year career, Adams has recorded a total of 957 receptions for 11,844 yards and 103 touchdowns.
Just days after signing Adams, the Rams released Cooper Kupp, leading the way for the former Packers star to take over. Plus, Adams and Puka Nacua together…. good luck to the cornerbacks.
The Rams win total is currently set at 10.5 wins, having finished the 2024 season with a 10-7 record. And they also might be set up for success based on their schedule.
According to ESPN’s Brian Burke, the Rams have the fifth-biggest rest advantage of any team in the NFL this season. They are set to have an additional eight extra days of rest compared to their opponents.
But that’s not all. A to Z Sports’ AJ Schulte detailed the other advantages the Rams have.
“Additionally, the Rams’ schedule also promises some other interesting advantages that could be underappreciated moments during the season. Los Angeles will not play a single team coming off a bye week all season, while their bye week comes at the end of their trek to London to take on Jacksonville. The NFL did the Rams another favor by scheduling an East Coast game the week before traveling out to London, with the Rams taking on the Ravens before crossing the Atlantic,” he wrote.
“The Rams will also play most of the season in domed stadiums, something that could be pretty advantageous after some rough outings in the weather in recent seasons, including an ugly 12-6 win over the 49ers on Thursday Night Football last season. While they didn’t earn any favors with their late TNF appearance this season, playing on the heels of what should be a physical matchup against the Detroit Lions, they do get an extra day of rest before their next game, a Monday Night showdown against the Atlanta Falcons.”
The Adams and Stafford connection combined with all this might mean a very strong seasons for the Los Angeles Rams.
