With the Indianapolis Colts’ 2025 schedule confirmed, how many games do NFL analysts predict they will win?
On paper, this Colts team has plenty of appealing qualities. The defense, particularly the secondary, has seen significant improvement with the arrivals of Cam Bynum and Charvarius Ward. Additionally, under Lou Anarumo’s leadership, his more aggressive and disguise-oriented scheme is expected to enhance the overall performance of the unit.
On offense, the Colts bring back the sole wide receiver group from 2024 with three players surpassing 800 receiving yards, and they also incorporated Tyler Warren into the roster.
Besides all of that, we must also remember Jonathan Taylor, who ranked as one of the most effective running backs in football last season.
Nonetheless, although all of that is accurate, the significant uncertainty for this team lies in the crucial position: quarterback. We are uncertain about who will start or what type of performance to anticipate from the player at quarterback.
I should also mention that there are some doubts regarding the offensive line. The Colts have confidence in Tanor Bortolini and Matt Goncalves, but the expectation that both can seamlessly take on starting roles—especially with Goncalves shifting positions—comes with certain risks.
Considering all of that, what do various analysts predict regarding the Colts’ record this season?
Moe Moton – Bleacher Report
Record prediction: 4-13Moton:
“The Indianapolis Colts have a solid offensive line, an All-Pro running back and a well-rounded group of receivers. Rookie tight end Tyler Warren has a bright future. Yet the offense isn’t going to reach its full potential because of the team’s quarterback options.”
Ben Arthur – FOX Sports
Record prediction: 8-9
Arthur: “A revamped secondary under new defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo will give the Colts a leg up against the quarterbacks on their schedule. But without a consistent, reliable passer of its own, Indianapolis could struggle in tight division matchups and down the stretch of 2025. That leads the Colts to their third finish under .500 in four years.”
Pro Football Network
Record prediction: 6.9-10.1
PFN: “Like Jacksonville, the Colts are projected a heavy chance at making the playoffs solely off the weakness of their division. With a 22.6% chance of making the playoffs and an 18.1% chance of winning the AFC South, it could be another unique season where a potential losing record makes the playoffs in the AFC.”
Matt Verderame – SI
Record prediction: 8-9
Verderame: “Shane Steichen is entering his third year at the helm, and the Colts are still trying to make the playoffs, and find their franchise quarterback. This season, Indianapolis will have to play well within the AFC South while finding some home victories against the San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, Cardinals, Broncos and Raiders. It’s possible Indianapolis finally finds the postseason.”
