Kyler Gordon, a Washington cornerback and the Chicago Bears’ top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, agreed to a regular four-year rookie contract on Saturday.
Gordon, who made the 2021 First-Team All-Pac 12 team, was selected 39th overall. He recorded 45 tackles, two tackles for loss, two interceptions, seven passes defended, and a forced fumble in his final season as a Husky.
The 6′, 200-pound player was seen working out on the side, so it is probable that he will be ready to go when rookies report to training camp on July 23. He missed the previous several offseason practice sessions at Halas Hall due to what is thought to be a minor ailment.
Jaquan Brisker, a fellow second-round pick, is now the sole rookie without a contract after Gordon signed. Brisker’s contract should be announced soon, given that he spent the majority of the offseason
Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles checked off an important task on his offseason to-do list on Sunday evening. The Bears signed cornerback Kyler Gordon to a three-year extension worth up to $40 million with $31.25 million guaranteed. The deal makes Gordon the highest-paid nickel cornerback in the league, eclipsing the extension Houston Texans defensive back Jalen Pitre signed a few days earlier.
Through three seasons, Gordon has totaled five interceptions, two forced fumbles, 1.5 sacks, and nine tackles for loss while becoming one of the better nickel corners in the league. Gordon was set to enter free agency next offseason but will now remain as one of Chicago’s key cornerstones as they enter a new era with head coach Ben Johnson and defensive coordinator Dennis Allen.
