REPORT: Rory McIlroy Sustained Injury After Being Attacked On His Way Back Fromā¦read more

The three-time Major winner competed in Monday nightās TGL main event, on the heels of a weekend that saw him get into a verbal altercation with a fan who yelled at his caddie at the Genesis Invitational.
After missing a ten-foot putt on the third hole, golf insider Dan Rapaport reported that a fan shouted, āBlame your caddie!ā at McIlroy, who responded: āShut the f*** up.ā
Swift and harmless, albeit still notable because it came from McIlroy.
The Northern Irishmanās putting failed him over the weekend, resulting in a frustrating and disappointing 17th-place finish.
According to CBS Sportsā Rick Gehman, McIlroy lost 6.88 strokes with his putter over the weekend, making it the worst third and fourth round total of his career.
That interaction left the haters and trolls on the internet to do what they do best, and thatās hide behind their keyboards and take shots at someone they would never dream of doing to their face.
That took place during the TGLās main event, Boston Common Golf vs. The Bay Golf Club on Monday evening at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
āDonāt chirp him, you will hurt his feelings,ā one fan posted on X.
āHeās washed! Horrible showing at the Genesis!ā another fan chimed in.
McIlroy doesnāt have time for what people say online, as he has stayed busy trying to get eyeballs on the newly formed golf league.
A league that is essentially the brainchild of McIlroy and Tiger Woods.
The TGL has given fans access and insight that has never been done before.
