The Philadelphia Eagles under general manager Howie Roseman have made a commitment to dominance along both lines of scrimmage a core value of the franchise, and that commitment continued with a colossal contract extension for stalwart center Cam Jurgens.
Jurgens, fresh off his first season as the Eagles’ starting center following perrenial All-Pro Jason Kelce’s retirement, agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension worth $68 million that includes $39.4 million fully guaranteed and keeps him in Philadelphia through the 2029 season, his agent Ryan Tollner announced.
Under his new contract, Jurgens becomes the highest-paid center in the NFL.
Philadelphia keeps a key member of one of the premier offensive lines in football around for the foreseeable future while maintaining unprecedented consistency at center following Kelce’s 13 seasons.
Last season, Jurgens, 25, allowed four sacks but posted a strong 68.5 run-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus, helping pave the way for running back Saquon Barkley to become NFL Offensive Player of The Year as the driving force of the Eagles’ Super Bowl championship.
