The 2025 NFL Draft saw a huge change in the league’s landscape. It also drastically changed fantasy football. League managers are already planning for their yearly draft, and what’s a more important fantasy position than running back? Here’s a power ranking of the top five rookie running backs in Fantasy Football.
5. Cam Skattebo: New York Giants

Skattebo fell to the fourth round of the NFL Draft, but that shouldn’t be seen as a negative. He was drafted by the New York Giants, who are a perfect fit for his talents.
2024 saw fifth-round pick Tyrone Tracy Jr. break out, especially in fantasy football. Tracy started the year slow as New York’s backup but quickly took the starting job. He ended the year with 10.7 fantasy points per game and 192 rushing attempts.
Tracy is expected to take on a bigger role this year, but Skattebo might be a steal for managers. The Giants will be looking to ease the pressure for 36-year-old Russell Wilson, and they’ll lean heavily on the two-headed monster.
Skattebo is a power back with surprising agility. He fights through contact and will likely play a huge role at the goal line. The Arizona State product will get a ton of touches this year, and the Giants will call on him to punch it into the endzone. Skattebo is a terrific RB2 this year.
4. RJ Harvey: Denver Broncos

RJ Harvey was the 60th overall pick in the 2025 Draft, taken by the Denver Broncos. In 2024, Denver used a committee backfield, but with Javonte Williams heading to Dallas, Jaleel McLaughlin will likely take a back seat.
In his final year at UCF, RJ Harvey rushed the ball 232 times for over 1,500 yards. He found the endzone 22 times and averaged 6.8 yards per carry. All of those numbers are career highs for him. He’s someone who can be fed the ball, and break away quickly.
Bo Nix was a breakout quarterback in 2024, but defenses will be more prepared this year. Denver will look to break open the playbook and blend the run game into it. RJ Harvey might not be the fastest running back in the league, but he knows how to make plays. He’ll be Denver’s RB1, which opens up a world of opportunities.
3. TreVeyon Henderson: New England Patriots

TreVeyon Henderson was drafted 38th overall out of The Ohio State and taken by the New England Patriots. Henderson is in an unbelievable position coming out of the gate.
The 22-year-old sits behind a revamped offensive line, a promising young quarterback, and some growing pains at the receiver position. Henderson will be a key playmaker in New England.
Head Coach Mike Vrabel is at his best with a strong run game. Look what he did with Derrick Henry in Tennesee. Henderson might not be at Henry’s level, but he’s a multi-tool player. Not only is he an elite runner, but he can block and catch passes extremely well.
Look for TreVeyon Henderson to be a lynchpin in the Patriots’ offense. The game plan will flow through him and open things up for quarterback Drake Maye.
2. Omarion Hampton: Los Angeles Chargers

With the 22nd pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Chargers selected Omarion Hampton out of North Carolina. This was a no-brainer, and anyone who knows Jim Harbaugh knows Hampton is right up his alley.
Harbaugh loves running the football. It’s been the lifeblood of his offensive scheme for years, and Omarion Hampton is everything he could ask for. In his three years in college, Hampton rushed the ball 622 times, for 3,565 yards and 36 touchdowns.
Hampton is also a tremendous receiving back. In 2024, he hauled in 38 receptions for 373 yards, averaging 9.8 yards per reception. This feels extremely obvious. Omarion Hampton is about to be one of the most well-fed running backs in the NFL.
. Ashton Jeanty: Las Vegas Raiders

Ashton Jeanty was the consensus RB1 in the 2025 NFL Draft and the sixth overall pick. Unreal doesn’t even begin to describe the 21-year-old out of Boise State. Jeanty is a monster who dominates defenses at will.
The Heisman runner-up rushed the ball 374 times in 2024 for a whopping 2,601 yards. His ability to break tackles, find open space, and take off makes him the most valuable running back option in fantasy football.
The Raiders’ new head coach Pete Carroll has proven what he can do with an elite running back. He coached Beast Mode himself Marshawn Lynch for years in Seattle.
With Geno Smith stepping into the QB1 role, Carroll will feed Ashton Jeanty the ball, and make him the identity of the Raiders’ offense. Fantasy managers, don’t overthink this.
End Of My NFL Fantasy Football Rant
The NFL has spent the last few years as a pass-heavy league, but the tides are turning again. Saquon Barkley and Derrick Henry proved that the run game is paramount. These five rookie running backs are about to take over fantasy football in a terrifying way. What’s even scarier is that three of them are in the same division.
