One prominent wide receiver has dominated the 2025 offseason trade speculations—and that is none other than Los Angeles Rams star WR Cooper Kupp. Kupp revealed on social media that the Rams have communicated their intention to trade him this offseason, which thrilled the Pittsburgh Steelers. NFL insider Ian Rapoport delivered great news to the Black and Gold—the Rams are ready to absorb part of Kupp’s contract.
Rapoport noted the Rams’ readiness to cover a portion of the money owed to Kupp on his existing contract, including his $7.5 million signing bonus, to “facilitate the trade slightly.”
The trade appeared to be a sure win for the Pittsburgh Steelers, particularly given that Kupp is not anticipated to require significant compensation in trade owing to his age and past injury issues. Nonetheless, the information that the Steelers might obtain him without assuming the full nearly $30 million due in 2025 enhances the value of this deal significantly.
