Time is running out for Aaron Rodgers, but there’s one exception.
Aaron Rodgers is unable to hear it. And is indifferent.
The Pittsburgh Steelers do not require any updates regarding their quarterback situation. Rodgers is engaging in his usual activities, perhaps in a secluded cabin or in Egypt or perhaps in some part of South America, “broadening his consciousness.”
That’s great for him.
However, Pittsburgh—now with Mason Rudolph alone at the top of the depth chart—must search for “just in case” alternatives.
Thus, interest in the quarterbacks of the draft arises from the top to the bottom.
Selecting 21st in the opening round of this month’s NFL Draft, Pittsburgh may be positioned to draft too late for Shedeur Sanders or Jaxson Dart, in this case.
Perhaps 21 is too soon for Jalen Milroe, or perhaps the Steelers feel compelled to “reach” – which is never a wise choice.
Perhaps this concerns Day 2. Or Day Three. Or an unexpected event.
The front office is taking necessary actions now, as on Monday, the Steelers welcomed emerging quarterback Kyle McCord for a pre-draft visit.
McCord improved his draft prospects last year at Syracuse. He topped the country in passing yards (4,779) and threw 34 touchdowns. He had formerly competed at Ohio State and might possess a “high floor.”
However, above all, McCord possesses a strength at this time that Rodgers lacks…
