Rosenthal notes that potential trade candidates for the Dodgers could include infielder Ha-Seong Kim, free-agent options, or players like Seiya Suzuki of the Chicago Cubs and Robert Jr., among others.
While the White Sox appear open to the idea of trading Robert Jr., they may not get full value for him if they move him now, given his performance in 2024. The 27-year-old outfielder played just 100 games last season due to injury, hitting only 14 home runs and driving in 35 RBIs. However, his production in 2023 showed his true potential—he made the All-Star team, posted a .264 batting average, hit 38 home runs, and recorded 80 RBIs. Additionally, he swiped 20 bases, finished 12th in American League MVP voting, and won a Silver Slugger Award. Robert Jr. has also earned a Gold Glove Award in the past and has affordable contract options for the 2026 and 2027 seasons, making him an attractive target for teams looking for long-term value.
Given his strong showing in 2023, the White Sox might be better off waiting until the trade deadline to move Robert Jr., as a mid-season trade could yield a higher return if he performs well in the first half of 2025.
