The Philadelphia Eagles made a hoard of selections on Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft, and one of them recently got a glowing stamp of approval from superstar defensive tackle Jalen Carter.
“Have you seen him yet?” Carter asked a scrum of reporters this week. “That boy’s fire.”
Let’s just say fourth-round rookie Ty Robinson is making quite the impression at Eagles OTAs.
The former Nebraska Cornhuskers star looked good on paper after posting an excellent 4.83 40 time at 288 pounds. He was a stat-stuffer from the inside of Nebraska’s defensive line, racking up seven sacks and 13 tackles for loss in 2024.
He’s looked even better on the field, with clips circulating of him flying around and treating weighted tackling dummies like ragdolls this spring.
“He’s moving good. He’s a big boy,” Carter said. “He’s here and he’s working. I think he’s going to have a big impact this season.”
Robinson should compete for snaps right away in the spot vacated by ascending star Milton Williams. He’ll be competing with returning Super Bowl champions like Moro Ojomo and Thomas Booker IV for reps opposite Carter and nose tackle Jordan Davis.
The Eagles are going extremely young on defense this season, with rookies Jihaad Campbell and Drew Mukuba expected to get plenty of opportunities to showcase their talents come training camp. Robinson, however, could end up being the impact player that nobody’s talking about in 2025 for the reigning Super Bowl champions.
