Jarvis Brownlee Jr. of the Tennessee Titans grabs a pass but falls out of bounds.
The Indianapolis Colts and the Tennessee Titans have no fondness for each other. In today’s world where sportsmanship and interactions off the field are prevalent, it’s refreshing to see that the animosity between these two competitors remains. The newest chapter in their rivalry occurred yesterday when Tennessee’s young defender Jarvis Brownlee shared a video of Anthony Richardson rapping.
“Indy on the ⏰ for that nonsense,” Brownlee’s now removed post stated.
For those unfamiliar, Colts’ quarterback Anthony Richardson has an interest in rapping. He previously produced music under the alias Big VO. Although he hasn’t released new tracks in several years, old clips of his songs are resurfacing due to some media figures passing them off as recent activities.
Social Media Controversy
As mentioned earlier, Anthony Richardson used to produce music. His profile can still be located on Spotify under “Big VO”. The currently circulated video is from his 2022 track titled “Villain”. This was recorded in the offseason before his third and final year at the University of Florida.
“Anthony Richardson is rapping. Is this the start of Richardson’s downfall in the NFL?” read a post on X by PlayerProfiler, a stats-focused account with more than 35,000 subscribers.
A very notable Twitter account, Dov Kleinman, also shared the video. Kleinman is recognized for spreading false information and attempting to provoke his over one million followers. Kleinman’s message, which stated “Colts star QB Anthony Richardson is also a rapper…” has received more than 1.6 million views.
Another post containing the same video from the account @MLFootball has garnered 1.6 million views as well.
Fans are interpreting this video as an ongoing situation and are using it to question Richardson’s dedication to his team and career.
Jarvis Brownlee and Anthony Richardson Have a History
It would be reckless to presume that the young Titans’ defender holds any animosity towards the Colts’ quarterback based on a play from last season. However, it also wouldn’t be fair to ignore the remarkable touchdown Richardson scored against Brownlee in Week 16 of the 2024 season.
It was a quarterback power move towards the near side boundary. With a hand on the back of elite guard Quenton Nelson, Richardson fought through the arm tackle of Brownlee and landed in the end zone for six points. Richardson evened the score at 7-7 in the second quarter and would proceed to add 17 more points that period to defeat their division opponent. The Titans fell to 3-12 on the season while the Colts strengthened their wildcard position, advancing to 7-8.
